Safety Information
Usage Guidelines :
Eye protection recommended. Avoid staring directly into the light. (Energy Center Alignment provides eyemasks – see below.)
Maintain 4-12 inches (10-30 cm) distance between lamp and skin.
Do not exceed recommended exposure time. Recommended use: 20 minutes per session, especially for first-time users or those with sensitive skin. Once you have used red light therapy and you find your skin benefits from the treatments and do you do not have any skin sensitivities
If the skin feels uncomfortably warm, move farther away, stop the session and alert your Practitioner that you are uncomfortable.
Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, taking photosensitizing medications, if you have light-sensitive conditions, have open wounds, active infections, or severe skin inflammation in the treatment area.
Do not use if you have a history of seizures triggered by light or other conditions affected by strong illumination.
Eye Protection

If the lamp isn’t UV, why is it necessary to wear eye protection?
Brightness and intensity. Red and near-infrared lights can look deceptively gentle, but even red light can over-stimulate the retina, especially when used close to the face. Extended exposure to that intensity can cause eye strain, fatigue, or headaches.
Deep tissue penetration. The retina can’t see infrared, so the pupil doesn’t contract in self-defense like it would with bright visible light. Over long or repeated exposures, this could cause thermal stress or retinal discomfort, even without immediate pain.
Through eyelids. Eyelids are very thin, both red and near-infrared light penetrate easily through it. Wearing protection protects sensitive retinal tissue.
